Deva Mahal has inherited a rare legacy along with her name.
On October 27th, she’ll release a self-titled EP, her first project since moving to NYC and establishing an iron-clad rep in its live circuit. Ahead of the EP’s release, Mahal has shared “Run Deep,” a thunderous modern soul anthem seeped in floor-stomping southern r&b traditions. The project is produced by Scott Jacoby, who’s spent the half-decade producing for Cory Henry, Vampire Weekend and Jose James, even offering a touch to a recent Coldplay song. Mahal aims to drop a full-length studio album next year.
