Ruth McFadden. (b. July 31st, 1938). Soul vocalist born in Charleston, South Carolina, who often worked with Gamble & Huff.
In 1955, she won an Amateur Hour competition at the Apollo Theatre and, consequently, was signed to a contract with the Old Town label.
McFadden recorded as a solo artist in the 1950s and early 1960s and also with a group called The Supremes. She also sang as Ruth McFadden and The Royaltones and as Ruth McFadden and The Moonglows.
